What is Clinical Herbalism?
Clinical
herbal medicine is the use of medicinal plants, nutritional science,
and time-honoured health practices in a clinical environment, assisting
the client to overcome illness and regain health.
What does a Clinical Herbalist do?
A Clinical Herbalist
uses several methods to assess the health status of a client, including
case history, physical examination, and interpretation of lab results,
as well as several other highly specialized techniques such as pulse
and tongue diagnosis, and iridology.
What is the Clinical Herbalist Diploma Program?
The Clinical Herbalist Diploma
program at Wild Rose College provides for all of the training and skills
the successful candidate will need to establish a practice in wholistic
healthcare.
How long does the program take?
Most students finish the Clinical Herbalist Diploma program in 3 years. Some students
take as long as 5 years, and some finish in as little as 2.5 years.
Wild Rose Diploma programs are highly flexible in their delivery options to allow the student
time to have a part-time job while attending school.
What are the requirements to begin a Wild Rose College Diploma program?
It
is recommended that students hold a high school diploma if they intend
to undertake the Clinical Herbalist program. Basic English competency
is expected.
Does previous education count?
The College recognizes University and College level science
courses for transfer credit, however all herbal components must be completed
through Wild Rose College. Herbal education received elsewhere will be considered on an individual
basis.
What about course delivery options: Correspondence? Classroom? On-Line?
Students have the option of completing courses
through in-class instruction,correspondence and on-line when available.
Some courses are available by correspondence, classroom and online. Some courses are available only
by correspondence and some courses are available only in the classroom.
In many cases you can choose how you want to take the course. In other cases you only have one
option available.

How much does it cost?
Costs will vary depending on the delivery options you choose, and the elective courses you choose.

When can I start?
You can start anytime! Simply choose the foundation course(s) you want to get started with. Some classroom courses
are only available once per year. Check out
www.wrc.net for the upcoming classroom schedule. You can start correspondence
and on-line courses anytime.
